Healthy Outlook for Motiv8 South
The report, compiled by Inspiring Business Performance Ltd (IBP), which is responsible for delivering the Investors in People Standard across London and the South, praised Motiv8’s commitment to job satisfaction.
It reads: “The culture within the organisation is very consultative. This has resulted in staff understanding why decisions are made and they are also able to take ownership for their contributions to the success of the charity."
“This has enabled them to feel good about the work they do as they are given the autonomy to develop projects according to their strengths and passions. This has encouraged job satisfaction and promoted a happy workforce."
“One of the other real strengths within Motiv8 is its flexibility. Interviews with staff highlighted many examples where hours had been changed according to individual requirements. Employees also commented on the opportunities to take time off in lieu as needed.”
Marina Tuck, Human Resources Manager at Motiv8, said: “We are delighted to have been recognised for the IIP Health and Wellbeing Award as we feel that it not only brings together all of the hard work of the staff but it also recognises the passion and dedication that they bring to the organisation. We have always believed that the happiness of our employees is central to the development of the organisation and having this recognised is a real benefit to us."
“Since the inclusion of a range of health and wellbeing initiatives and benefits, Motiv8 has seen a yearly decrease in company sickness levels. We have also increased the number of staff training days we provide. Motiv8 regularly consults with staff and collates feedback through an employee questionnaire that covers a range of areas including communication, wellbeing, benefits, vision for the organisation and services for our users."
“It has been noted that over the 4-5 years that these have been undertaken, positive feedback scores from staff have always been over 75 per cent.”
Marina paid tribute to the IBP team for guiding them through the Health and Wellbeing Good Practice process.
“The IBP assessor was and has always been very helpful in both preparing for the IIP assessment and undertaking the interviews,” she said. “She has not only been friendly and approachable but has also helped to make the Standards clear and understandable, giving practical examples and continued support.”
John Telfer, Managing Director of IBP, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Motiv8. I would like to congratulate the organisation and its people on their commitment to continuous improvement. I’m sure that news of Motiv8’s success will encourage more charities to sharpen their competitive edge by choosing to work with Investors in People.”
